Need a good road map of Costa Rica ?
Available at the reception is the new edition of the Toucan Map for a very economical price of 14 $.
This is the only Costa Rica map with street level details for a dozen areas including the whole central valley around the International airport, Jacó, Manuel Antonio, Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna, Puerto Viejo, Puerto Jiménez, Alajuela, Heredia, Escazú, Tamarindo and Downtown San José.
Indexed locations of cities, parks, reserves, beaches, hotels, activities and all the other points of interest appear on the same side as the appropriate map so you don't have to flip back and forth.
Also a quick reference English/Spanish phrase section so if you do get lost, you won't have to dig out your dictionary. Included are driving distance table and drive time calculations, clear differentiation of paved and un-paved routes (updated in 2012), and symbols showing the location of butterfly gardens, hotsprings, scuba centers, canopy adventures, and many more activities in a rugged waterproof road map.
Roads are really confusing in Costa Rica. There is no good signage or marking at all, that's why we highly recommend you rent a GPS. We started our Costa Rica adventure in Tacacori Lodge, a little garden of eden ! We were very happy, we stayed her four nights in this very nice and confortable casita. So we could fully enjoy the hospitality of Nadine and Patrick. Everything was very well taken care of. After four weeks travelling through this beautiful country, we returned to the Tacacori and now we know this definitively is a special place, peaceful and relaxing.
They even arranged the Oropendola Montezuma to build their own nagging casistas in front of ours !
Thanks again for a wonderful stay and we hope to be back !

Thank you so much for your kind hospitality. Your guidance with arrangements for tours, places to eat and your helpfulness in all other aspects of our stay have been really appreciated. In fact we would´nt have been able to do so much without you assistance. Many many thanks. The casita is beautiful and the garden so “tranquille”. Merci beaucoup de m´aider avec mon français ! J´oublie les petits déjeuners sont très très bons ! Merci encore.
